THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE PERFORMANCE RESTRICTION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.

LATER THAT EVENING WHILE DRIVING NORMAL SPEED LIMIT THERE WAS A LOUD CHATTER FROM THE ENGINE AND THEN WHITE SMOKE BILLOWED FROM THE EXHAUST. PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TRIED TO RESTART. ONE CLICK BUT THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESTART.
