The affected vehicles are equipped with a dual-stage driver frontal air bag that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion which, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR MODULE AND THE CLIP COVER WERE FRACTURED. AS A RESULT, THE AIR BAG SENSOR MODULE AND THE CLIP COVER WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,075.
SON WAS DRIVING THROUGH A PARKING LOT AT ABOUT 5 MPH, WENT OVER A DRAINAGE GRATE & THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED, BREAKING THE WINDSHIELD. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE DONE TO THE OUTSIDE OR UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. VEHICLE IS NOT ON AIRBAG RECALL LIST.
