An improperly sealed electrical connector on the water pump may be exposed to water and short circuit.
An electrical short increases the risk of a fire.

The rear reflex reflectors may not reflect enough light. As such, the vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
The vehicle may be less visible to other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

BUT 3 MONTHS AND 1399 MILES LATER, AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED, THE SAME BMW DEALER PROVIDED AN INSPECTION REPORT SAYING THE TRANSFER CASE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED IMMEDIATELY. THE CAR WAS THERE FOR AN UNRELATED ISSUE.
