If the frontal air bags, seat belt pretensioners, and side air bags are disabled, there is an increased risk of injury to the vehicle occupants in the event of a vehicle crash that necessitates deployment of these safety systems.

Electrical over-stress of a resistor in the occupant restraint control module may lead to the non-deployment of the active head restraints during a rear impact collision.
In the event of a crash necessitating the deployment of the active head restraints , their non-deployment could increase the risk of injury.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 DODGE AVENGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WAY THE SPEEDOMETER WAS ARRANGED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS A SAFETY HAZARD. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HE HAD TO REMOVE HIS EYES FROM THE ROADWAY IN ORDER TO VERIFY AT WHAT SPEED HE WAS TRAVELING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO ALTER THE DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 270.
I GOT A RECALL NOTICE STATING THAT MY CAR WOULD BE FIXED AND THE LABOR AND PARTS WOULD BE FREE. I HAVE SPOKEN WITH THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY I WILL NEED TO PAY $300 IN PARTS TO GET IT REPLACED. IF THE RECALL NOTICE SAYS IT WOULD BE FREE THEN WHY DO I NEED TO PAY? THE RECALL SHOULD BE COVERED BY CHRYSLER. THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEATING CORE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED TO BE INSPECTED AND DIAGNOSED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41920.
WHEN STOPPED ON HILL THEN LET FOOT OFF BRAKE LETTING CAR COAST THE TRANSMISSION WILL DROP ON LOW GEAR SHUTTERING CAR MAKING LOUD NOISE, NOTED THIS ALSO WHILE DRIVING TRANSMISSION WILL SHUTTER CAUSING SOME LOSS OF SPEED. *JS
