Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2019 Fusion Energi Hybrid models. The affected vehicles may not adequately protect against direct and indirect contact of high voltage sources during normal operation. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 305, "Electric-Powered Vehicles: Electrolyte spillage and electrical shock protection."

Potential contact with high voltage sources increases the risk of injury.

The contact owns a 2019 Ford Fusion. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V440000 (Electrical System) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The dealer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

I've had multiple problems with the BECM and the EV Battery Cell Balancing Circuit stuck on or off. I've taken the car to the dealer twice for diagnosis and repair and I'm scheduling to take it in a third time. Please see my attached notes of the visits to the dealer.
