Power train:automatic transmission:control module (tcm/pcm/tecm)

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Maverick Hybrid and 2020 Escape Hybrid vehicles. The Hybrid Powertrain Control Module (HPCM) software may cause the vehicle to shift into neutral unexpectedly, causing a loss of drive power.

A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

Service brakes mileage not reported 6 mo in service

The brakes sporatically cause you to jerk to a stop when you are all almost completely stop (under 5MPH). This is a dangerous issue when in heavy commuter traffic as the following vehicle may not be prepared for what is a complete emergency stop while other traffic continues to flow at slow speeds. Ford has released numerous TSBs to fix this issue but none of them have truly fixed the problem.

Brakes of 2023 Ford Maverick Hybrid are grabby when attempting to slow down to below 6-10 mph , especially when the roads are wet. Even with slight wetness on the ground, the brakes behave like this, leading to unpredictable stops and jumping of vehicle in common scenarios such as drive-thrus, stop-and-go traffic, and parking lots. Local Ford dealer attempted to replicate the issue when it was sunny and dry and was unable to do so. As such, they refuse to do any further testing and are saying that "this is how the hybrids are". I will visit the dealer again when it is rainy.

Whenever I press the brake pedal the brakes GRAB. It is not smooth, and is very uncomfortable, and even dangerous!

Six month old Vehicle has failed to start twice in the last 3 days. The dealership looked at the vehicle but didnât isolate a problem for repair. Fear is that the electrical system will shut down while driving and will lose control of the vehicle in traffic. OR will stop in a dangerous situation hazardous to me or other motorists. This has happened twice in the last 3 days.
