As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, " Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
Trailer lights or brakes that do not function can reduce the driver’s ability to control the trailer and decrease the trailers visibility to other road users, increasing the risk of a crash.

A software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank image, or the image may remain on the display after the backing event has ended.
A rearview camera that displays a blank image can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle. A rearview image that continues to be displayed after the vehicle is shifted out of reverse may distract the driver. Both of these situations can increase the risk of a crash.

Since the date of purchase (10/29/21) I am unable to change/set FM stations. Apps (ie: iHeart, Spotify) and voice command work intermittently. Apps will not work unless phone is plugged in. 911 assist will not work if not paired and connected to a Bluetooth enabled and compatible cell phone (see pg. 59 2022 Maverick ownerâs manual). Unsure if lane keeping assistance is working properly. Vehicle was brought to Sam Galloway Ford on 10/30/21. Per Sam Galloway Ford: âFord is aware of these problems. It is a âhardwareâ issue.â
The contact owns a 2022 Ford Maverick. The contact stated that NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V193000 (Electrical System) was repaired at the dealer. The contact was stopped by the police and informed that the brake light on the trailer was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for the Ford Tech to reprogram the brake module. The contact was informed to no use the trailer brakes. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 9,000.
