(Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2003-2004 Infiniti I35, 2003-2005 FX35 and FX45, and 2006 M35 and M45 vehicles originally sold, or currently registered, in geographic locations associated with high absolute humidity. Specifically, vehicles sold, or ever registered, in Florida, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Saipan, Guam, and American Samoa, as well as Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, and Georgia, are included. Upon deployment of the passenger side frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to rupture.
In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passengers frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants potentially resulting in serious injury or death.

Over time, the accelerator pedal sensor signal may deteriorate resulting in the output of an incorrect signal causing the engine to go into fail-safe (limp home) mode.
In this fail-safe mode, throttle valve deposits may cause the engine to stall when the vehicle is coming to a stop or at idle, increasing the risk of a crash.

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND STALLED AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF 55 MPH WITHOUT WARNING ON TWO OCCASIONS. AFTER BOTH INCIDENTS THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN AWAY FROM THE SIGHT SLOWLY AND TAKEN TO A SERVICE DEALER. AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER AFTER THE SECOND OCCURRENCE, THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE DEALER REPLACED THE WIRING HARNESS. UPDATED 06/16/06. *JB

THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE ALERTED. UPDATED 10/25/2006 - THE CONSUMER HAS INADVERTENTLY LOCK THE VEHICLE AND LEFT IT RUNNING TWICE. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE SUDDEN ACCELERATION CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A CONCRETE WALL, CAUSING A MINOR KNEE INJURY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AS A PRECAUTION. UPON INSPECTION THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS AND WAS INSPECTED EACH TIME.
