THE VEHICLE WAS COMPLETELY DESTROYED BY AN ENGINE FIRE PRIOR TO THE RECALL ON INTAKE AND EXHAUST MANIFOLD THAT RESULTS IN UNDER HOOD FIRE. *YH *SCC

I CALLED THE DEALER ABOUT THIS NOTICE AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO HELP ME FOR ANOTHER 6 WEEKS. I THOUGHT THAT THIS WAS TOO LONG TO GET MY VEHICLE CHECKED OUT, ESPECIALLY WITH THIS BEING A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. *NM

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE ENGINE THERMOSTAT ELEVATED WITHOUT WARNING. A NHTSA RECALL, #06V199000 WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE CONCERNING, THE ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:COOLING SYSTEM:FAN, HOWEVER THE RECALL DID NOT REMEDY THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY THE DEALER WHO DETERMINED THE RELAY SWITCH FOR THE NEWLY UPDATED COOLING SYSTEM FAN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALERTED.
