Due to a software issue, multiple malfunction indicator lamps may illuminate on the instrument panel when no malfunction exists. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Control and Displays."

ON OCT 10,2017 AT 12:30PM MY JEEP RENEGADE TRAILHAWK 2017 4X4. AT 60 MPH WITH CRUISE ON THREE WAS JOLT,FELT LIKE A MY VECHILE WAS IT IN THE REAR. TE PARKING BRAKE LIGHT AND TRACTION LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH.
TRANSMISSION FAILURE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING UP HILL ABOUT 80MILES NORTH BOUND ON I-15 TO LAS VEGAS. THE ENGINE CHECK LIT UP AND SHOWED TRANSMISSION FAILURE AND TO BRING IN FOR SERVICE. THE CAR STALLED AND WE WERE ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. LUCKILY THE CAR STARTED UP AGAIN BUT WOULD EVENTUALLY STALLED AGAIN AS IT TRIED TO CLIMB THE HILL. IT STALLED ABOUT 5 TIMES UNTIL WE COULD EXIT TO A GAS STATION (~5MILES AWAY) TO EXCHANGE FOR ANOTHER RENTAL CAR. THE CAR HAS ABOUT ~10K MILES ON IT. THE TEMPERATURE OUTSIDE WAS 105 DEGREES.
