The passenger suffered minor injuries to the chest area but did not seek medical attention. The dealer was contacted and stated that the vehicle needed to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 46,519.
The MIDDLE row passenger seat belt locks in place. We took it to the Lincoln dealership in San Antonio Texas and this is what their report states: Found internal failure with seat belt mechanism causing seatbelt to bind. Recommend to replace and retest. But there is no safety recall on it so they want to charge $947 to fix it. Yet, the exact same thing happened to our FRONT seat passenger seat belt! But that was fixed because of a recall.
