Genera Corporation (Genera) is recalling certain aftermarket replacement tail lights, model 11-6468-00 (driver-side), and model 11-6467-00 (passenger-side), sold for use on 2012-2013 Toyota Prius V vehicles. The brake light and tail light circuits are switched causing the brake lights to be illuminated continuously until the brake pedal is pressed, when the brake lights will go out.
The reversed tail lamp function reduces the ability to warn other motorists of the driver's intentions, increasing the risk of a crash.

WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, COMING TO A STOP AT A STOP SIGN, WE WENT OVER UNEVEN PAVEMENT AND THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD WHILE ONLY A FEW FEET FROM THE CROSSWALK. *TR BRAKING TO A STOP AT AN INTERSECTION - THE ROAD IS DRY AND FLAT. THE CAR'S TRACTION CONTROL/SLIPPERY ICON COMES ON. CAR IS PARKED IN AN UNDERGROUND PARKING LOT. START CAR AND REVERSE OUT OF PARKING SPOT WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY STOPS AND LOSSES POWER. HAD TO START CAR AGAIN AND THE SLIPPERY ICON COMES ON AND CAR WOULDN'T GO INTO GEAR. POWER ON AND OFF A FEW TIMES BEFORE CAR WENT INTO GEAR.
SECOND OF TWO ACCIDENTS. BRAKING DISTANCE APPEARS SEVERELY COMPROMISED. UNABLE TO STOP WITHIN A REASONABLE DISTANCE.
WHILE DRIVING IT SEEMED THE CAR JUST STOPPED LOUD BANG IN REAR AND QUICKLY MOVED AGAIN TOOK TO DEALER AND THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG DON'T FEEL SAFE IN CARE THIS IS SECOND TIME IT HAS HAPPENED. THANK YOU *TR
