Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2021, 2023 Acura TLX, 2019-2024 RDX, 2017-2020, 2022-2026 MDX, 2017-2021, 2023, 2025 Honda Ridgeline, 2017-2022 Pilot, 2019-2021 Passport, 2018-2026 Odyssey, 2019-2022 Insight, 2019-2021 HR-V, 2018-2020 Fit, 2020-2022 CR-V Hybrid, 2017-2022 CR-V, 2017-2018, 2021 Civic Type R, 2017-2021 Civic hatchback, 2016-2020 Civic coupe, 2016-2022 Civic, 2017-2022 Accord Hybrid, and 2016-2022 Accord vehicles. The front passenger seat weight sensor may crack and short circuit, which can cause the air bags to deploy unintentionally during a crash.

Collision avoidance mileage not reported 6 mo in service

Purchased car on 11-30-21. Three (3) times, most recently 3-5-22, while making a lane change from a single lane to multiple lanes on a right curve, the vehicle has suddenly decelerated and the braking system came on. Fortunately, no one was behind me on any of the three (3) occurrences. The vehicle did not come to a complete stop. Speed at time of each incident was around 45 mph and the vehicle slowed to under 30 mph abruptly.

The contact owns a 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle was independently braking. The contact stated that the Lane Departure warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving to his destination. The contact stated that he experienced the failure on 5 separate occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

While driving on a clear day with good weather, my car's Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) slammed on the car's brakes with no one in front of me whatsoever. I was driving over a bridge at the time, and it was my assumption that shadows from the bridge structures above caused the system to go. This is the second time the CMBS went off for no reason. I am lucky no one was behind me as the car slams on the brakes when CMBS goes off.
