THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING. THE POLICE AND AMBULANCE WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SUSTAINED SEVERE INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO THE COLLISION CENTER. THE INSURANCE COMPANY HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 22,000.

TAKATA RECALL SUBARU SENT A RECALL NOTICE IN JULY 2016 INDICATING THAT "SUBARU IS IN THE PROCESS OF ACQUIRING PARTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS REPAIR". MEANING THAT THEY ARE NOT PRESENTLY ABLE TO PERFORM THE REPAIR. "UNTIL THIS REPAIR IS PERFORMED, DO NOT ALLOW PASSENGERS TO RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT." THIS IS ENTIRELY IMPRACTICAL. I DID NOT PURCHASE A SUBARU TO DRIVE IT WITH NO ONE ELSE IN THE FRONT SEAT! I NEED SUBARU TO EITHER REPAIR THE DEFECT IN A TIMELY FASHION, OR TO PROVIDE ME WITH AN ALTERNATE FORM OF TRANSPORTATION.
