If the power sliding door is unable to be opened when commanded, such as if the door is frozen shut, the door may subsequently open unexpectedly, possibly while the vehicle is moving.
If door opens while the vehicle is moving, there would be an increased risk of injury to the vehicle occupants.

The electrical wiring in the seat heaters may be damaged when the seat cushion is compressed.
If damaged, the copper strand heating element may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING A SIGNIFICANT DISTANCE WITH HIS LEGS PRESSING ON THE FLOOR BOARD, THE CRUISE CONTROL DISENGAGED THE BRAKES ENGAGED SLIGHTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY THE WIRING UNDERNEATH THE FLOOR BOARD. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN INSPECTED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. I WAS STOPPED FOR A RED LIGHT AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT ON HIGHWAY 20 IN NICEVILLE, FL. I HAD MY RIGHT FOOT ON THE BRAKE WHEN I FELT THE VEHICLE ATTEMPT TO SURGE FORWARD AND I COULD HEARD THE ENGINE REV. I LOOKED AT THE TACHOMETER AND NOTICED THE ENGINE WAS AT 2000 RPM INSTEAD OF THE NORMAL IDLE OF APPROX 800 RPM. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I DROVE AWAY AND THE VEHICLE DROVE NORMALLY. I DID NOT HAVE ANOTHER INCIDENT DRIVING HOME EVEN WHEN I STOPPED AT OTHER TRAFFIC LIGHTS. THIS IS THE SECOND OCCURRENCE OF THIS UN-COMMANDED ACCELERATION - THE OTHER TOOK PLACE LAST YEAR. *JB

THE DEALER WAS ABLE TO RECREATE THE FAILURE BUT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 16,000.
