The electrical wiring in the seat heaters may be damaged when the seat cushion is compressed.
If damaged, the copper strand heating element may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire.

The affected vehicles have an air bag control module that may be improperly programmed, causing the side curtain-shield-air bags to deploy inadvertently.
If the side curtain-shield-air bags deploy unexpectedly, it can increase the risk of occupant injury.

THE FRAME OF THE TRUCK WAS RECALLED FOR EXCESSIVE RUST. THE DEALER SPRAYED ON A COATING PER THE RECALL IN 2013. THE COATING HAS ALL FLAKED OFF AND THE FRAME IS LOSING CHUNKS OF RUST. TOYOTA KNOW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM BUT WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT ONCE THEY SPRAY THE DEFECTIVE COATING ON IT. THE TRUCK FRAME NEEDS REPLACED AND THEY WON'T DO IT. SOMEBODY IS GOING TO BE SERIOUSLY INJURED OR KILLED IN ONE OF THESE TRUCKS WHEN THE FRAME BREAKS AT SPEED.
1. FROM A STOP, AUTO TRANSMISSION SLIPPED OUT OF FIRST GEAR. WHILE TRYING TO BACK UP, REVERSE WOULD NOT ENGAGE. 2. WHILE DRIVING, FOURTH GEAR DID NOT ENGAGE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, THEN IT SLIPPED OUT OF THIRD. AS A RESULT, I WAS ALMOST REAR ENDED DUE TO THE LOSS OF POWER. 3. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALERSHIP.
