In the affected vehicles, debris may contaminate the air bag clock spring, a spiral wound, flat cable that keeps the air bag powered while the steering wheel is being turned. This contamination may tear the cable and result in a loss of electrical connection to the driver's frontal air bag.
A loss of electrical connection to the driver's frontal air bag will prevent the air bag from deploying in the event of a vehicle crash, increasing the risk of injury.

TWO MONTHS INTO A NEW PURCHASE OF A 2010 CC I NOTICED A CONSTANT" BUCKING AND JERKING" OF THE CAR IN TRAFFIC OR AFTER THE CAR BECOMES HOT.. ITS VERY NOTICEABLE AT LOW SPEED STOP AND GO TRAFFIC.. IT'S VERY ANNOYING. AND MANY TIMES SHIFTING FROM REVERSE TO 1ST IT FEELS LIKE THE GEARS TAKE A SECOND TO CONNECT SO THERE IS A "HARD BUCK" ONCE IT DOES AND YOU CAN HEAR A HARD CRANKING NOISE. IVE TAKEN THE CAR BACK TO DEALER IT TOOK THEM A DAY AND A HALF TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY SAY ITS THE MECHATRONICS SYSTEM. I'VE BEEN WAITING NEARLY 4 WEEKS FOR REPLACEMENT.

PER DEALER CAUSED BY HOLE IN RADIATOR ALONG SEAM. RADIATOR ASSEMBLY REPLACED, UPON FURTHER TESTING COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY ALSO BAD, COOLING FAN ASSEMBLY REPLACED ALSO. COVERED BY WARRANTY.
