The welds on the outboard rear seat strikers for the second row bench and second row bucket seats may fail during a front impact crash. The front outboard seat strikers for the third row bench seats may fail in the event of a rear impact crash. In addition, the second row bench and second row bucket seats may not withstand the required loads.
If the seat strikers fail, the seat or seat belt may not adequately restrain the occupant, increasing the risk of injury.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2019 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE RPM REVVED UP AND EXCEEDED 5,000 RPM. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHILE ACCELERATING WITH THE ECONOMY LIGHT DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FELDMAN CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP LOCATED AT 23940 ALLEN RD, WOODHAVEN, 48183 HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO PROVIDE A CAUSE FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,895.
Before 50K miles the transmission went out and a cylinder blew at the same time. There was no warning this would happen and when it happened we were in traffic and caused the vehicle to jump almost hitting another car. This was repaired by Dodge. At the time of pick up the technician in the shop told us that this is a common issue with these vans and he sees this all the time. Also the breaks have not worked properly since purchase. An online form shows many owners have this same issue and have determined that the break system is under rated for the size of vehicle.

SHE PULLED A LEVER ATTEMPTING TO ADJUST THE SEAT AND THE ENTIRE SEAT JERKED FORWARD WITH A HEAVY IMPACT. *JS
